Teleplay by : Shawn Postoff Story by : Ron Cowen - Daniel Lipman - Shawn Postoff Directed by : Kelly Makin
Police Chief Stockwell's campaign for mayor heats up with Brian joining the team. Michael has some difficulty making a deposit at the sperm bank. Ethan performs in a competition in New York and comes in second, but his looks attract a first-rate talent representative who expects Ethan to sacrifice more than he's prepared to. Ted and Emmett can't agree on the perfect house until Ted gives in to his new lover. Michael sees Ben shooting steroids, and dancing boys are dropping at Babylon.
Bill 'Pooch' Goddard (Post Supervisor - Coproducer) : We try to get songs that we know will be timely, but also to work story-wise. We used the "Barbie" song in this episode. If you listen to the lyrics in the background with what's going on with the drug boys that are passing out, it's 'It's a plastic world... life is plastic, it's fantastic." And these guys are going down, boom boom, boom. So it's happy, happy, happy on a musical level, tragedy in the background, and then our guys are in the foreground with their own problems as well. So you've got three layers going and it's all contextual to the music.
