It’s time for the Rage release party, but few people feel like celebrating. Justin apologizes to Brian about Ethan, but then gets into a fight with Michael over the situation. Ben announces that he’s leaving for Tibet, but he will only go if Michael’s okay with it. Michael reluctantly gives his blessing, but Debbie convinces Ben to stay. Ted admits feelings to an unreceptive Emmett. However, upon further consideration, Emmett changes his mind and locks lips with his friend. And in the end, Justin makes his choice to go with the romantic Ethan, leaving Brian behind.

Ron Cowen : Brian was starting to realize how much he cared about Justin, but he could not fully give up his own needs and his own life to become a monogamous couple because it was taking away his own independence. Brian grew up in an extremely dysfunctional family with a very cruel and abusive father and an alcoholic, ice-cold mother who was very judgmental and punishing. I don’t think he found any love in his family at all. Debbie probably showed him more love than anyone in his own family. I think Brian has a lot of trouble with love because he didn’t have a very good example of it at home. If that’s what he saw growing up every day, then of course he doesn’t want to get married or be in a relationship. It was a nightmare in his house, and I think he’s very afraid of that and very suspicious and mistrustful of what goes under the name of love. Brian couldn’t really give Justin what he wanted because he was too afraid.
