Ted and Michael manage to get the famous drag queen Divina Devore to perform at the Angel Ball because she used to date Debbie back in high school, back when she was a he named Danny. After seeing a photo of Danny, Michael realizes his mom has been lying to him about his father and that his real dad is the drag queen. Melanie and Lindsay try to get Gus into the best preschool and mistakenly think they have problems because of there being same-sex parents. Justin’s dad announces that he is not paying for school anymore, forcing Justin to get a job dancing at Babylon.



Sharon Gless : It wasn’t a show just about Michael finding out about his father. It was about the end of a lie Debbie’s had to live with so long. It was a lovely script. The obvious was to just go with the story of “Oh Michael meets his father.” But it became about so much more. For Debbie it was also about the pain and the lie this woman’s had to live for so many years and she’s suddenly found out. It was the one lie she kept and it was to protect her son.
