Teleplay by : Michael MacLennan Story by : Ron Cowen - Daniel Lipman - Michael MacLennan Directed by : Thom Best
In the small world of Liberty Avenue it comes as a bit of a shock for Michael to learn that Brian and Ben had a one-night stand in the past. Although Michael tries to act nonchalant, he is jealous of both Brian and Ben. Ted mingles with an upscale gay crowd that is only interested in him as a pimp for the men on his site. After the cops fail to find out the identity of the body found in the Dumpster several weeks ago, Debbie puts on her investigator hat and gets to work identifying the boy.
Peter Paige : I think Emmett’s the only character in this show -except Debbie- who is not afraid of Brian on some level. Even Melanie is afraid of him because of Lindsay and Gus. Emmett is really just, “Fuck off! You overfucked idiot!” He’s willing to call Brian on his shit and that does not intimidate him. There was a line in the script that had Emmett saying, “Wow, if Brian had fucked my boyfriend, I would have to break up with him. That would be game over.” And when I saw it, I was like, “No!” Emmett just doesn’t feel this way. I just don’t believe that Emmett thinks that there’s anybody who is so much better than him that somebody couldn’t love him, too. And Ron and Dan were like “You’re totally right. That’s Ted.” And of course Scotty had to get the line.
