Written by : Ron Cowen - Daniel Lipman Directed by : Alex Chapple
It's Brian’s thirtieth birthday and as far as he's concerned his life is over. Michael's plans to relocate to Portland fall through when David takes total control of the move, forcing Michael to reexamine his decision. Ted is forced to admit that Blake is a hopeless cause when he checks himself in and out of rehab. Justin and Daphne attend their prom together and Brian arrives and shares a romantic dance with Justin. The happiness is short-lived as a bat-wielding Chris Hobbes attacks Justin afterward. Brian rushes to Justin’s aid and calls Michael for support, stopping him from getting on a plane with David.
Daniel Lipman : I loved the end of the first season. I loved the whole “Save the Last Dance for Me.” We hired someone to teach Gale and Randy to dance. Randy has done theater and musicals, so he’s very agile – and Gale is less so. But they were great together. It was romantic. I knew that people would look at that and swoon. That was a fantasy come true, taking a great-looking guy – your boyfriend – to the prom.
