Michael goes on his first date ever with the cute chiropractor Dr. David; while continuing to avoid the pursuit of Tracy at work. In light of his near-death experience, Ted takes stock of his near-life. A potential client dangles a high-priced contract in front of Brian so long as Brian will dangle a bit of himself in front of the client in return. Justin deals with issues over his mom, forcing Brian to deal with issues concerning his own dad.



Hal Sparks : All of Michael’s sex scenes are potential love scenes, with rare exception. There are a couple of times when he tried to live the life of Brian and the rest of the guys and failed miserably. For instance, at the end of their date, David doesn’t want to have sex with him and Michael doesn’t understand what’s wrong. So he goes into the back room and gets a blow job. And he’s miserable. You can see it in his eyes. We finish the episode looking at how vacant he is because it means nothing. That’s never enough for Michael. It’s a great thing to play. He’s looking for love, not just a physical connection.
